Education Ministry assures teachers that it is committed to doing everything within its power to support them – even amid limited resources
The Education Ministry is assuring teachers that it is committed to doing everything within its power to support them – even amid limited resources.
Permanent Secretary, Dr. Kasan Troupe, says teachers can be assured while the Ministry may not have all the resources it desires, it remains focused on ensuring that what is available will be used effectively to support teachers and the wider education system.
Her remarks come as the Government and teachers hold wage talks.
She was speaking at the JTA’s 61st Annual Pre-Conference Church Service.
On Friday, the JTA’s negotiating team walked out of discussions with the Finance Ministry, citing the Government’s failure to present a substantially improved salary offer.
Public sector teachers have been without a wage agreement since March 31.
