Cavalier, Harbour View to headline JPL opening day as 2025-26 season kicks off August 24

Two-time defending champions Cavalier will launch their bid for a historic third consecutive title with a blockbuster home clash against former winners Harbour View in the opening round of the 2025–26 Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL) on Sunday, August 24.

According to the draft schedule for the island’s top-flight competition, last season’s beaten finalists Mount Pleasant will also be in the spotlight, opening their campaign with a high-profile showdown at home against MoBay United.

Newly promoted clubs Treasure Beach and Spanish Town Police FC will mark their long-awaited return to Premier League football by facing each other in St Elizabeth, while last year’s third-place finishers Arnett Gardens begin their season on the road against Racing United.

Other opening-day fixtures include:

  • Chapelton Maroons hosting Tivoli Gardens
  • Portmore United travelling to face Dunbeholden
  • Molynes United squaring off with Waterhouse

Following the excitement of Match Day One, the league will take a short break, resuming on August 31. This pause accommodates the Caribbean Club Championships set for August 27–28, which will feature both Cavalier and Mount Pleasant representing Jamaica on the regional stage.
