Two men killed in separate crashes St.Ann yesterday

Two men died in separate road crashes in St.Ann yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as 86-year-old Claudius Brown of Salem and 28-year-old Andylo Chambers of Windsor District, St. Ann’s Bay.

The first incident occurred around 11:35 A.M. along the Laughlands Main Road.

It is reported that Chambers was riding a motorcycle with a pillion passenger when it collided with a grey Toyota Probox traveling in the opposite direction.

The two sustained serious injuries and were taken to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital.

Chambers later succumbed to his injuries while being treated.

The pillion remains hospitalized.

Later that day, around 5:45 P.M., Claudius Brown died after being hit while riding a pedal cycle along the Salem Main Road.

Reports from the Runaway Bay police indicate that he allegedly rode into the path of a black Toyota Mark X and was thrown from the bicycle upon impact.

He was transported to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

So far in July, eight road collisions have claimed the lives of 13 people.
