PM Holness says gov’t plans to deal with crime and violence decisively
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has assured that the government plans to deal with crime and violence, decisively.
He made the statement at the groundbreaking and contract signing ceremony for the Westlands Port Expansion Project at the Kingston Freeport Terminal, yesterday.
Dr. Holness reiterated that criminal activities affect business in Jamaica.
He said while investors have been showing confidence in the economic strength of the country, crime and violence are still hampering growth and so they must be addressed.
The Prime Minister also lamented that if youngsters continue to join gangs instead of the labour force the country will have a significant labour shortage within the next decade.
