A woman perished in a house fire in Catherine Hall, St. James this morning.

Dead is 20-year-old Kayjea Cassells of the community. 

Reports are that at about 4:49 a m, residents saw fire coming from Cassells’ home and summoned the Fire Brigade and police.

They responded and the fire was extinguished.

During cooling down operations, Cassells’ charred remains were found in a bedroom.

The scene was processed and a post mortem examination is to be conducted.
