Police officers upset over suspension of overtime payments and unpaid increments
Rank and file members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force are reportedly upset, following reports that overtime payments have been suspended and that increments have not been paid.
The Police Federation said no official communication regarding these matters has been submitted, so efforts are being made to get clarity.
It said a meeting has been scheduled for next Thursday, July 3, with National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang.
The matter of overtime suspension and the non-payment of increments to some officers will be among the topics for urgent discussions.
The Federation said it’s also seeking a meeting with the Police High Command to discuss the concerns of members with the view to providing full feedback on the issues.
Cops are being reminded that overtime payment is court-ordered and as such, there cannot be a removal of this facility.
