Government to install 10 CT Scan and 6 MRI machines across public health hospitals by year-end

Government is expected to install 10 CT Scan and 6 MRI machines across the island’s public health hospitals by year end.

Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton gave the update in Parliament yesterday.

According to Dr. Tufton, this is to increase the number of imaging tests, conducted in the island’s public hospitals, noting that over 700,000 tests were conducted last year.

He said only 5 CT Scan machines are available to various hospitals.

The Health Minister said some of the additional MRI machines are at procurement stage.

He added that the new machines will be installed at hospitals that have the special facility to house them.
