Scottish Premier League team leads the race to sign Reggae Boyz and Cavalier defender Richard King

Reggae Boyz and Cavalier defender Richard King could be on the move to Europe in a matter of days, with the latest news that the Scottish Premier League team St. Mirren are close to acquiring his signature. 

It is understood that both Cavalier and St. Mirren, who finished 6th in the Scottish League last season, will be ironing out a fee that will be undisclosed for the signature of the 23 year old Cavalier captain. 

Several clubs across Europe and Major League Soccer in North America are said to be in the race to sign the defende, who recently led Cavalier to back-to-back Jamaica Premier League titles and victory in the 2025 Caribbean Cup. 

The 23-year-old who spent a season on loan in Iceland at club IBV has been previously linked to a number of English Premier League teams including Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham United.

The defender is expected to take the field in Jamaica’s final group game of the second-round Concacaf World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala tomorrow at the National Stadium.
