3 Y/O among 28 people granted Jamaican citizenship yesterday
A 3-year-old is among twenty-eight persons from 15 countries who were granted Jamaican citizenship by the government, yesterday.
They were presented with documents formalising their status, by the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency, PICA, during a swearing-in ceremony at the Police Officers Club in St. Andrew.
The men, women and children hail from the United Arab Emirates, United States of America, United Kingdom, Belize, Haiti, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Poland, Cuba, Russia, Dominican Republic, and Myanmar.
Twelve persons obtained citizenship by naturalisation, seven by marriage, two by registration, and seven by descent.
Welcoming the new Jamaicans, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang encouraged them to continue making their contributions to Jamaica’s growth and development.
