Police are searching for an inmate who escaped custody in the St. Andrew South Division this morning.

He is 29-year-old Garfield Dias, otherwise called ‘Camfa Ball,’ of St. Paul Lane, Kingston 11.

Diaz was arrested on charges of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Police report that at about 4:00 A.M., Dias fled custody while being treated at a hospital.

The police are urging him to surrender immediately.

Dias is of dark complexion, medium build and has scars on the left side of his head and right arm.

Anyone knowing his whereabouts is being asked to contact the Hunts Bay Police at (876) 923-7111, the 119 police emergency number, or the nearest police station.

The police are also reminding persons that it is a criminal offence to harbour a fugitive.
