Jamaican racer Tommi Gore faces setback in ADAC GT4 Germany season debut, but stays grateful for safety
There was a tinge of disappointment for Jamaican race driver Tommi Gore as he made his debut in the 2025 ADAC GT4 Germany. The Montegonian driver, representing the AVIA W&S Motorsport team, was forced to retire from Sunday’s race after an unfortunate accident early in the first lap.
While it wasn’t the race result Gore had hoped for, he remained in an appreciative mood, thankful to have emerged unscathed from the incident where his Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS was rear-ended, sending it crashing into the barriers at the Oschersleben Motorsport Arena.
“Thanks for all the support this weekend guys, unfortunate start but we’ll work at it and bounce back for the next one,” Gore later said.
Despite the challenges of the weekend, Gore remains focused on his long-term goals for the season. 2025 is his second full campaign in the ADAC GT4 Germany Championship, following a mid-season entry with AVIA W&S Motorsport in 2024. Gore’s performances last year impressed many, securing his place in the team for this season.
“I’m excited to be back with AVIA W&S Motorsport for my second year in the ADAC GT4 Germany Championship,” said Gore. “After joining the team mid-season last year, I instantly felt at home, and we were able to achieve great results together. This year, I’m looking forward to building on that success alongside my new teammate Alon Gabbay. We’re focused on pushing for the front, and with our combined effort, Jamaica will be represented proudly on the international stage!”
Meanwhile. the opening weekend at Oschersleben was full of action with the team of Jay Mo Härtling and Enrico Förderer dominating the proceedings. After clinching victory on Saturday, they completed a clean sweep with a win in the Sunday race in their Mercedes-AMG GT4. The pair heads to the Norisring as the championship leaders with the stage set for a competitive second race weekend in July.
On the podium alongside them were local heroes Hugo Sasse and Roman Fellner-Feldegg from Prosport Racing, who took second place in their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 duo of Raphael Rennhofer and Emil Heyerdahl (Wimmer Werk Motorsport) rounded out the top three, having also secured a podium finish the previous day.
