Opposition Spokesperson on Agriculture, Dr. Dayton Campbell, says it is unacceptable that only 15 per cent of the country’s arable lands are irrigated.

Speaking at the Montpellier Agricultural Show in St. James yesterday, Dr. Campbell highlighted how the lack of irrigation is limiting productivity and affecting farmers.

He called for urgent action to increase the number of irrigated lands.

He also stressed the need for better storage facilities, noting that inadequate storage continues to harm farmers and cause significant losses.
