Kishane set for intense Shanghai Diamond League showdown – May 3
Jamaica’s Olympic 100 meters silver medalist Kishane Thompson has been confirmed for the May 3rd Shanghai Diamond League meet where he will face some of the other biggest names in men’s sprinting.
The 23 year old Thompson will run in the highly anticipated 100 meters and will kick off a fierce sprint rivalry against the likes of former World Champion Christian Coleman, Olympic 200 meters champion Leslie Tebogo, former Olympic 100 meters champion Marcell Jacobs and Akani Simbine
Thompson who pulled out of the World Indoor Championships set for this weekend in Nanjing China due to injury, kicked off his season by clocking the fifth-fastest 60 meters meters time in Jamaican history running a personal best of 6.48 seconds at the Central Hurdles, Relays, and Field events meet in Kingston.
A week later, on January 25th, he competed in his first indoor race on European soil at the World Athletics Indoor tour gold meeting in Astana, where he powered to an impressive win in 6.56 seconds – but since then, the 23-year-old hasn’t competed in any race.
