A man has been hospitalised under police guard after he reportedly threatened a policeman with a piece of board and was shot and wounded by the cop, in Spalding, on the Clarendon / Manchester border, earlier today. 

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. 

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the matter.

Deputy Commissioner Hamish Campbell said, based on police reports, cops had attempted to arrest the man, in relation to another matter, when the man allegedly assaulted an officer.
