Cavalier down but not out despite 2-nil loss to Inter-Miami FC

Premier League Champions Cavalier are heading back to Jamaica later today, following a hard fought two nil loss to Inter Miami Fc,  in the first leg round of 16 clash in the Concacaf Champions Cup on Thursday night  at  the  Chase  Stadium  in  Fort  Lauderdale. 

The Rudoplh Spied conditioned team  Cavalier made life miserable for the Inter-Miami team who played without Lionel Messi again due to load management.

Cavalier hit the post via a deflected shot , and during first half-stoppage time found the back of the net – when shaquille stein finished a set-piece routine. 

However, after a lengthy Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review, the goal was disallowed due to an offside call. 

However, in the 61st minute, the ‘Herons’ were given life with their first real attempt of the match, when winger Tadeo Allende opened the scoring after a chaotic sequence in the box, where two initial attempts were cleared off the line before he could slot home to break the deadlock.

 Then, with eight minutes to spare in regulation, they doubled their lead through Luis Suarez, who capitalized off a defensive error . 

The two teams will return to the pitch next Thursday March 13 for the second leg in Kingston, at the National Stadium. 

The winner of the contest will advance to the quarterfinals.
