Mount Pleasant extend winning streak with dominant 4-1 victory over Vere United
Mount Pleasant continued their impressive run in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League with a 4-1 demolition of Vere United on Match Day 21, securing their record-extending 12th consecutive victory. The clash at Drax Hall saw the home side maintain their dominance, further cementing their place at the top of the table.
Kyle Ming was the star early on, breaking the deadlock in the 3rd minute to give Mount Pleasant the lead. Vere United responded in the 25th minute through a goal from Robino Gordon, but Mount Pleasant quickly regained the advantage just before halftime. Shaqueil Bradford found the back of the net in the 36th minute, sending the home side into the break with a 2-1 lead.
The second half saw Mount Pleasant extend their lead. Defender Sue-Lae McCalla, celebrating his national call-up, scored in the 57th minute to make it 3-1. Jahmari Nolan completed the scoring for the league leaders in the 80th minute, sealing a comfortable 4-1 victory. With the result, Mount Pleasant now sit at the top of the league table with 52 points, eight ahead of second-place Montego Bay United.
Montego Bay United Secure 3-1 Win Over Waterhouse
Montego Bay United kept the pressure on the leaders with a 3-1 win over Waterhouse in Wednesday’s action with goals by Shaniel Thomas (31’), Jean Claudio Ferreira (44’) and Johann Weatherly (71’) while Mario Simms (78’) responded for Waterhouse. The victory pushed them to 44 points, eight behind Mount Pleasant.
Arnett Gardens Rampant in 5-1 Victory Over Humble Lion
Former champions Arnett Gardens, after 3 games without a win, bounced back to form with a resounding 5-1 thrashing of Humble Lion at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. The win pushed them to 43 points, just one behind Montego Bay United in third place.
Chavany Willis gave Arnett an early lead with a goal in the 1st minute, and Warner Brown doubled the advantage in the 42nd minute. Jaheim Thomas made it 3-0 in the 50th minute, before debutante Giovani Taylor—son of assistant coach and former Reggae Boy Fabian Taylor—scored twice in quick succession (75th, 78th minutes) to put the game further out of reach. Humble Lion managed a late consolation goal through Stephen Barnett in the 84th minute, but the result leaves them rooted at the bottom of the table with just 14 points.
Portmore United and Molynes United Play to Goalless Draw
Portmore United, currently in 4th place, played out a goalless draw with Molynes United at the Drewsland Mini Stadium. The stalemate saw Portmore increase their points tally to 35, while Molynes, coached by Jermaine Thomas, remain in 9th place with 22 points.

In the opening game of the doubleheader at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex, defending champions Cavalier were held to a 0-0 draw by Tivoli Gardens. The result leaves Cavalier in 5th place with 34 points, while Tivoli, who have 27 points, remain in 7th.
