“Park and Ride” system to transport people to and from tonight’s Fireworks Festival at Waterfront in Downtown, Kingston
The Urban Development Corporation will be enacting a “park and ride” system to transport people to and from tonight’s Fireworks Festival at the Waterfront in Downtown, Kingston.
Patrons will be transported by shuttle bus to the venue.
Persons are being advised to park in established areas as vehicles found outside approved locations will be towed.
Paid parking options will also be available at several locations including the Harbour Street car park, Jamaica Customs and the Supreme Court multi-story car parks.
Meanwhile, the police will be implementing several measures to mitigate traffic congestion and disruption along the Palisadoes main road.
People typically visit the corridor to view the fireworks.
The police say from 5:00 this afternoon up to midnight, no parking will be allowed along the right side of the Norman Manley Highway leading to the airport. That is from the Harbour View round-a-bout to the airport round-a-bout.
Parking will be at designated locations on the left side only.
No vending will be allowed along the strip.
