Normality returns to Decameron Beach Hotel following strike by some workers on Friday
Normal operations have resumed at the Decameron Beach Hotel in Montego Bay, St. James, following industrial action taken by some employees, this morning.
The workers were reportedly upset over issues related to their wages and working conditions.
A small group of employees staged a protest at the entrance to the hotel.
The industrial action comes on the heels of recent unrest in the sector that has seen the intervention of the tourism and labour ministries.
Employees at several properties, such as Bahia Principe and Moon Palace, have seen improved salaries and benefits, as a result of the action taken.
Meanwhile, Senior Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright, has urged workers to desist from being quick to protest and to let good sense prevail, when issues arise.
