Police High Command saddened by death of Constable
The Police High Command has expressed sadness following the death of a Police Constable in a motor vehicle crash in Greater Portmore, St. Catherine, last evening.
He has been identified as David Hamilton.
Constable Hamilton was assigned to the St. Andrew Central Division.
Reports are that at about 8: 20 pm, Constable Hamilton was driving a Nissan motor car along a roadway in Greater Portmore, when the vehicle collided with a Jamaica Urban Transit Company bus.
He sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.
The force’s Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to Constable Hamilton’s relatives, friends and colleagues.
Last evening’s fatal crash is the second involving police constables this week.
On Sunday, Constable Ramone Sterling who was attached to the St. James Police was killed in a crash along the Discovery Bay main road in St. Ann.
