Savanna-La-Mar Mayor Danree Delancy has called on the government to fast track plans to address water supply issues in the resort town of Negril.

Mayor Delancy made the call while addressing the general monthly meeting of the Westmoreland Municipal Corporation, yesterday.

He said despite promises from the government to address the water challenges, which have been ongoing for several months, little has been done.

Mayor Delancy said business operators and residents are still feeling the impacts of the water crisis.

The mayor added that with the winter tourist season just a few weeks away, it is imperative that the situation be addressed.

He said he is worried about the hotels in the area.

He said there needs to be a comprehensive policy to deal with water distribution across the country.
