Jamaicans head to Miami Carnival despite Hurricane Milton battering Florida
Despite hurricane Milton having battered Florida Jamaicans locally and in the diaspora are still heading to Miami for carnival.
Set to run from October 11-13, 2024, in South Miami the annual event host revellers from all over the world. This year although the state is being impacted by Milton revellers are still hyped on having a grand time.
Speaking with Music News one Reveler said he purchased his ticket and will not be deterred by the storm or its aftereffects.
Meanwhile in a release on the Carnival’s website the organisers refuted reports circulating on the internet that the event has been cancelled. They wrote that they are closely monitoring the system and will provide updates in a timely and efficient manner.
The release urged patrons to only rely and use information shared on the carnival’s official website and social media pages.
