Several Jamaican students in Tampa, Florida evacuate ahead of Hurricane Milton’s passage
Several Jamaican students in Tampa, Florida in the United States have been evacuated ahead of Hurricane Milton’s passage.
Category 4 Milton which is already affecting the state, is forecast to be “deadly and catastrophic”.
The hurricane packing ferocious winds of up to 165 miles per hour is expected to make landfall in Tampa tonight.
Consul General of Jamaica in Miami, Oliver Mair told Irie FM News that many students in Florida have moved to shelters and other parts of the state.
He said while the consulate is closed until Friday, persons may make contact via its social media platforms.
