People’s National Party (PNP) caretaker for Hanover Western, Heatha Miller-Bennett, has pledged to support vendors who suffered losses due to the fire at the Lucea market, yesterday.

Twenty-eight shops were destroyed or damaged by the blaze, which occurred at about 3:50 AM.

Firefighters were reportedly hampered in their efforts to battle the blaze, due to water access challenges.

In a statement reacting to the tragedy, Miller-Bennett pledged her assistance to help the vendors rebuild.
