Irie FM News Journalist Myesha Broadie copped the top award for Best News Story, at last evening’s Caribbean Broadcasting Union, (CBU) 35th Media Awards ceremony.

The event was held in Belize.

Ms. Broadie’s entry, Crime puts Damper on Christmas Cheer, was selected as the winner in the Radio Production category. 

The special feature was aired on Irie FM last December, and highlighted how un-festive and sad the yuletide season was for residents of some crime plagued communities in St. James.
