The St. Ann police carried out public order operations in major towns today.

The operations were conducted in Ocho Rios, St. Ann’s Bay and Browns Town.

Motorists and vendors were targetted as lawmen sought to restore order on the streets.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ryan Gayle told IRIE FM news that the primary mission is to ensure free movement.

However, some vendors in St. Ann’s Bay have taken issue with aspects of the operation.

One vendor, Nadine said the St. Ann’s Bay market is in a deplorable state and so they have been selling on the streets for the past two years.

In response DSP Gayle said the vendors were warned to desist selling on the streets.
