Holness reiterates NHT’s plan for middle and low income contributors
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the over all plan of the National Housing Trust, NHT, is to provide housing solutions for middle and low income contributors.
According to the prime minister, 15,000 housing solutions are projected to commence this financial year.
He said of that number, 96% will target middle income to low income NHT contributors.
He noted that there will be 7600 one bed room units and over 4000, 2 bedroom units constructed.
In the meantime, he said government wants to move away from the use of the terms middle income and low income earners, as they might give the wrong impression.
He said the terms are not meant to be demeaning and all income earners deserve to own a home.
