Wolmers Girls Shanique Williams is the first Jamaican winner on today’s opening day of the 128th running of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Williams produced an effort of 1.73 meters to win the high school high jump championship event ahead of her teammate Danielle Noble who also leaped 1.73 meters.

It was a good day so far for Wolmers Girls as they were among six Jamaican schools to the 4×100 meters Championship race.

Defending champions Hydel High WITH 45.99 seconds, led the six qualifiers while all three Jamaican schools booked their spots in the 4×800 meters Championship race.
