Western parishes to experience longer drought – Met Service
Western parishes will continue to be affected by drought conditions longer than other parishes.
Director of the Met services branch, Evan Thompson made the disclosure at a press briefing, on Monday.
He said while the island will benefit from increased rainfall starting this month, Hanover and Westmoreland, including Negril, will remain dry for a prolonged period.
Meantime, Water Minister Matthew Samuda reiterated that the members of parliament in Hanover and Westmoreland have been allocated $4 million each, for the trucking of water to residents.
He said both municipal corporations have also received over $5 million each for trucked water.
