Sunshine Girls dominate statistically in Suncorp Super Netball League
Sunshine Girls standouts Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard and Shamera Sterling-Humphrey occupy first place in a number of statistical categories at the end of play in round 2 in the Suncorp Super Netball League in Australia.
Fowler-Nembhard, who plays for the undefeated West Coast Fever, leads the league in scoring with 133 goals and is also first in offensive rebounds (11) and Nissan Net Points (283). In her last outing she compiled 63 goals from 65 shots to orchestrate a one-sided 81-56 crushing of Sunshine Coast Lightning.
Sterling-Humphrey, the reigning league MVP, is number one in deflections (15) and intercepts (12) and is also second in Nissan Net Points (232.5) and 4th in defensive rebounds with 4.
Romelda Aiken-George, her teammate at the Adelaide Thunderbirds, is second in offensive rebounds (10) and 3rd in scoring with 76 goals while Latanya Wilson occupies second spot in both deflections and intercepts with 12 and 8 respectively.
The trio of Wilson, Aiken-George and Sterling Humphrey will return to action for the defending champions who play away at Sunshine Coast Lightning in round 3 while Fowler-Nembhard will take center court alongside Shanice Beckford and Kadie-Ann Dehaney for the West Coast Fever who are on the road against a Melbourne Mavericks team that features Shimona Nelson.
