JFJ urges government to quickly appoint permanent Director of Public Prosecutions
Advocacy group Jamaicans For Justice (JFJ) has urged the government to move with haste to appoint a permanent Director of Public Prosecutions.
Executive Director, Mickel Jackson says the appointment of the acting DPP is welcomed, as this is in the interest of justice and the continuity of the administration of the Office of the DPP.
However, she says JFJ is concerned about the language of the press release coming from the Attorney General’s chambers, as it seems to suggest that the former DPP has only stepped away from the post, temporarily.
