A United Kingdom national was shot and killed and two other men shot and wounded along the Race Course Main Road in Clarendon, on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as fifty-nine-year-old Michael Bassiere.

Reports from the May Pen police are that about 8:45 p.m., Bassiere was at a wake in the area when a motor car with three men aboard drove up.

The three men, who were armed, alighted and opened gunfire.

When the shooting subsided, Bassiere and two other men were seen with gunshot wounds.

They were taken to hospital where Bassiere was pronounced dead and the other men treated.

Investigations continue.
