Jamaica’s Women’s Cricketers are the 2024 Regional Women’s Super50 champions.
They achieved the feat after beating the Windward Islands by 3 wickets in their top of the table clash at the St. Paul’s Sports Complex in St. Kitts.
Set a formidable 176 for victory, the jamaicans made 176 for 7 in 36.1 overs led primarily by a top-score of 72 by opener rashada williams…..a knock that included 7 fours and a 6.
Natasha Mclean was also instrumental…hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes in a run-a-ball 50 while Chedean Nation got 29 as Carena Noel and Amiah Gilbert took 2 wickets apiece
Earlier the second placed windwards winning the toss and electing to bat amassed a competitive 175 for 9 from their allotted 45 overs led by pearl Etienne who hit a top-score of 58 with useful contributions coming from Jannelia Glasgow 38 and afy Fletcher 31.
Chinnele henry…..6 for 31 was the standout bowler for jamaica with one each for the trio of Niesha-Ann Waisome, Vanessa watts and captain Stafanie Taylor.
Final score: the Windwards 175 for 8, Jamaica 176 for 7.
The unbeaten Jamaicans with the result notched a 4th successive win to take an unassailable lead ahead of the 5th and final round clash against Guyana.
round 5 takes place on wednesday with jamaica facing Guyana at St. [aul’s, the Leewards opposing T&T at Warner Park and Barbados taking on the Windwards at Conaree.
