ICC under 19 World Cup warm-up match between the West Indies and Nepal abandoned
The ICC under 19 World Cup warm-up match between the West Indies under 19’s and Nepal was abandoned earlier this morning after 18.3 overs at the Saint Stithians main Oval in Johannesburg.
The windies had reached 33 for 1 when the match was abandoned due to the adverse weather conditions.
The match would have been the 2nd and final warm-up game for the Young ‘Windies after they beat their New Zealand counterparts by 6 wickets on Sunday.
In that game New Zealand was bowled out for 131 as Nathan Sealy bagged 4 for 21 from 9 overs, while the windies under 19’s in response raced to 132 for 4 in 24.5 overs with Joshua Dorne hitting an unbeaten 45.
The windies will now turn their attention to the upcoming World Cup which bowls off on Friday and runs until February 24.
They open their campaign against tournament host South Africa in Potchef-Stroom on Friday.
