33 people murdered in the country as at Saturday
Thirty-three (33) people have been murdered in the country, as at Saturday January 13.
This is the same number of people killed in the similar period last year.
All divisions except Trelawny, St. Mary, Portland, Kingston Western, Clarendon and St. Andrew North have recorded murders so far.
St. James recorded the highest number of murders with 9, followed by St. Ann with 5, and Kingston Central and Manchester with 3 each.
Meantime, cases of rape declined by 24 and robberies by 6.
However, break-ins increased by 2 from 29 last year to 31 so far.
Overall, 130 serious crimes were reported, 15 fewer than the 145 recorded in the similar period last year.
