Seven charged in connection with beating of 14-y-o granted bail
The seven persons charged in connection with the brutal beating of a 14-year-old girl in Clarendon, in December in 2023, were granted bail with strict conditions, on Thursday.
They are 52-year-old Pauline Hugh-Smith, Fayann Millwood, 22-year-old Amanda Anderson, three girls ages 15, 16 and 17 and a 17-year-old male.
Hugh-Smith, Millwood and Anderson were granted bail in the sum of $1.2 million with sureties.
The four minors were granted bail in the sum of $600,000 each with sureties.
They are to return to the Clarendon parish court on March 26.
Senior parish judge Dahlia Findlay in granting bail, placed a gag order on the accused which prohibits them from discussing the case in public.
They are also banned by the judge from using whatsapp and all other social media platforms.
The incident involving the brutal beating of the complainant went viral on social media.
The teen was admitted at hospital in serious condition ,but is now recuperating at home.
Irie Fm news understands that while the teen is not in much pain, she is not yet able to return to school.
