Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson said the recent sentencing of Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan and his 14 co-accused, is an indication that no one is above the law.

Bryan received 39 and a half years imprisonment for being the leader of a criminal organization, as well as 6 counts of facilitating the commission of a serious offence by a criminal organisation.

The others were sentenced to between 6 and 17 years.  

Speaking at a police press briefing yesterday (October 3), Commissioner Anderson said he hopes the sentencing will send a clear message to the criminal underworld.

He said the constabulary force remains committed to sending gangsters to prison.
