Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce wins in Madrid World Athletics Continental Tour silver meeting
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was in red hot form today on her way to victory in the women’s 100 metres at the World Athletics Continental tour silver meeting in Madrid, Spain.
She sped to a meet record 10.83 seconds to produce her second 100 meters win of the week.
Her compatriot Shashalee Forbes was third in the event in 11.11 seconds
Meanwhile, Rajindra Campbell shattered the Jamaican national record in the men’s shot put event and booked a spot at the upcoming World athletics Championship in Hungary.
This after he won the event in a new personal best and meet record 22.22 meters to break the previous national record of 21.96 metres set back in 2017 by O’dayne Richards.
He has also surpassed the qualifying mark of 21.40metres and is now tied for third in the world with New Zealand’s Tom Walsh and only behind the American Ryan Crouser – 23.56metes.
In the meantime Julian Forte was second in the men’s 200 metres in a season’s best 20.35 seconds, while Nigel Allen posted 20.79 seconds for 5th place.
Tyler Mason 13.41 seconds and Orlando Bennett 13.43 seconds were 4th and 5th respectively in the men’s 110 meter hurdles.
