Police Commissioner suggests review of legislation to address the use of the internet to create fear and terror
Police commissioner Antony Anderson is suggesting a review of legislation to address the use of the internet to create fear and terror in the society.
In recent times, a number of videos of bomb threats have gone viral. The latest incidents occurred on Sunday and Monday of this week disrupting activities in Ocho Rios, St. Ann and at the St. Mary High School.
Commissioner Anderson says “policing in a time of social media”, is one challenge faced by the Constabulary, noting that this has changed things in a significant way.
The Police Commissioner says there was a significant deployment of assets for the bomb scare in Ocho Rios which was costly for both businesses and the security forces.
