More than 400 people murdered in the country since start of the year
More than 400 people have been murdered in the country since the start of the year.
As of Sunday, April 30, 409 murders were recorded.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this is 80 fewer than the 489 recorded in the corresponding period last year.
St. James recorded the highest number of murders with 54, followed by Clarendon with 39.
Meanwhile, there were also declines in rapes, robberies, and break-ins.
Cases of rape declined by 65 from 169 to 104.
Robberies decreased by 86 from 309 to 223, while break-ins decreased by 33, from 331 to 298.
