Scores of National Commercial Bank, NCB customers in several parishes are being urged to brace for disruptions in Automated Banking Machine, ABM services.

This following an attack on a Beryllium cash courier vehicle in Albion, St. Thomas, yesterday.

The vehicle came under heavy gunfire while at a gas station, where the guards were stocking an Automated Teller Machine, ATM.

No money was stolen.

However, yesterday’s incident is the latest in a series of recent attacks on guards attached to Beryllium while servicing ATMs and banks.

In a social media post today, NCB said customers in Kingston, St. Andrew, and St. Catherine will experience disruptions in its ABM services due to reduced operations from Beryllium Limited, as a result of yesterday’s incident.

Noting that it understands that this may cause inconvenience and frustration, the NCB assured that it is working diligently to minimize the impact on its customers.

The bank has urged customers to plan accordingly and consider alternative banking options, such as its online and mobile banking services, or using their NCB debit cards at NCB point of sale machines across the island.

The NCB has also urged customers to exercise caution and remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity, immediately.

The bank said it hopes to resume normal operations as soon as possible, and will update customers on any further developments.
