Men charged in relation to death of social media influencer Aneka “Slickianna” Townsend, to return to court for bail hearing
Rushawn Patterson, who is charged with the murder of social media influencer Anecka “Slickianna” Townsend, is to return to court on December 15, when a bail application will be made for him.
That order was made when Patterson appeared in the St. James parish court, today.
Forty-seven-year old security guard Rohan Rose who is charged with misprision of felony in the case, also appeared in court today (November 23), and will return on November 28 for a bail hearing.
He was charged for allegedly knowing that the murder was committed, but failing to report it.
The Director of Public Prosecutions has decided that there should be no committal proceedings and that the cases should go directly for trial in the St. James Circuit Court.
On October 21, the Marine Police removed Townsend’s body from the sea in the vicinity of Reading St. James.
A post mortem examination conducted on November 5 stated that her cause of death was strangulation.
It is being alleged that on October 20, Ms. Townsend travelled from Kingston to Montego Bay, where she was reportedly picked up by Patterson.
Patterson and Townsend were allegedly seen that day, at a restaurant in Hanover, and later at a guest house in St. James.
