Australian-based goal-shooter Romelda Aiken-George headlines the 10-member team that will represent Jamaica at the upcoming Fast5 World Netball Series in New Zealand.

Aiken-George who gave birth to her first child July, last week joined a new team……the NSW Swifts in the Suncorp Super netball league after spending the previous 14 seasons with the Queensland Firebirds who she led to three national titles.

The squad meanwhile includes three players that took part in the recent taini jamison series against new zealand in Gezelle Allison, Abigail Sutherland and Mischa Creary.

It’s completed by Roxonna Mclean, Amanda Pinkney, Crystal Plummer, Kimone Shaw, Theresa Beckford and Tafiya Hunter who were all part of the recent gold medal winning team at the Canoc Games in Guadeloupe.

The team will be led by head coach Annett Daley with Dalton Hinds the assistant.

The Fast5 world netball series which will be staged in Christchurch is scheduled from November 4 to 6.

Meanwhile local governing body netball jamaica has also named the squad that will take center-court at the Americas Netball World Cup qualifiers in Kingston from October 16 to 22.

The new look squad that’s led by captain Jhaniele Fowler features upcoming talents the likes of Tahlice Redwood, Quannia Walker and Kelsey Jonas.

It also includes 8 players who’ve been drafted to the fast5  squad…..Gezelle Allison, Amanda Pinkney, Tafiya Hunter, Mischa Creary, Kimone Shaw, Theresa Beckford, Crystal Plummer, Abigail Sutherland

The team will be under the guidance of head coach Connie Francis.

Including Jamaica, the Americas Netball World Cup qualifiers is being contested by a total of 9 teams….Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Cayman Islands, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States

The tournament will qualify two teams to the 2023 Netball World cup set to run from July 28 to August 6 in south Africa. 

The third ranked sunshine girls, who finished 4th at the 2019 edition in Liverpool, gained an automatic berth by virtue of their number 3 spot on the World Netball rankings.
