MP pledges support for grieving family of teen girls who were washed away by St. Mary river, after bodies recovered
Member of Parliament for St. Mary South Eastern, Norman Dunn has pledged to support the family of the two teen girls who were washed away by a river, in Jobs Hill St. Mary on Thursday (August 25).
The body of 14-year-old Hallekaye Smikle was recovered this morning (August 27), while the body of her relative,10-year-old Quwana Ricketts was found yesterday.
Speaking with IRIE FM news, Mr. Dunn says the community has lost two vibrant young girls.
He adds that he will do all he can to support the family appropriately during this tragic time.
Mr. Dunn also notes that churches in the area are providing counselling support for the family.
