President of World Athletics Sebastien Coe is optimistic that the profile of the sport can be raised immensely with the USA hosting the world championship in Oregon. 

The former 1500 metres Olympic champion Coe, understands the complexity of the US sports market, with track and field competing against NFL, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Tennis, Golf, among other sporting disciplines. 

Notwithstanding Coe says with track and field ranked fifth among the most watched Sport in North America, he is holding faith that the sport will continue to grow outside of mainstream markets.
