Alkaline donates a mil to Jamaica Society for the Blind
Ahead of the highly anticipated staging of Alkaline’s New Rules event series, the Dancehall deejay, through his foundation, donated one million dollars to the Jamaica Society for the Blind during the launch held in Kingston on Thursday (June 22) night.
Though “the man himself” was not present at the launch, the handing over of the million dollar cheque was done by Alkaline’s sister, and manager, Kerena Beckford.
The launch of Alkaline’s New Rules was attended by its sponsors, and media practitioners, along with a few members of the entertainment industry.
After a 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic, New Rules headlined by Alkaline, will make its return to Kingston on July 2.
Slated to take place at the National Stadium, the Jamaican leg of the 2022 staging of New Rules will feature the likes of Skeng, Macka Diamond, Aidonia, Elephant Man, Intense, Stalk Ashley, Javiillani, I-Waata, Marcy Chin and others.
New Rules was first held in Jamaica in 2017, and in New York the following year.
