National Security Minister says e-traffic ticketing system resulted in the collection of about $18M in fines
The electronic traffic ticketing system has resulted in the collection of about 18 million dollars in fines.
National Security Minister Dr Horace Chang said the system has proven to be a good return on investments.
He was making his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in Parliament yesterday (June 1).
The Minister said between December 2021 and April 2022, over 20,000 tickets were issued, of which over 7,000 were paid.
Dr. Chang said by Christmas, he expects to see more benefits from the system, with improved driver action, and prosecution for traffic offences.
