46 people have been murdered in the country, as at Saturday January 20.

This is 11 fewer than the 57 people killed in the same period last year.

All divisions except, Kingston Western, and St. Thomas have recorded murders so far.

St. James recorded the highest with 9, followed by St. Ann and St. Catherine North with 6 each.

Meantime, cases of rape declined by 24, robberies by 1 and break-ins by 4.

Overall, 192 serious crimes were reported, 31 fewer than the 223 recorded in the same period last year.
