A three-year-old boy is dead and his father is severely injured following a house fire in Portmore, St Catherine last night.

The deceased is Cleon Williams of Portmore Gardens.

Commander for the St Catherine Fire Brigade, Superintendent Dennis Lyons said they received reports of a blaze at around 11:40 P.M.

He said when the firefighters arrived on the scene, a four bedroom dwelling was found engulfed in flames.

He said after cooling down operations, the father and son were found in the building.

Cleon died on the spot but his father was taken to hospital where he was admitted.
