Three men are dead following an alleged confrontation with lawmen in St. Thomas, early this morning.

Their identities have not yet been released.

IRIE FM News understands that the incident occurred in an area known as Poorman’s Corner.

Reports are that the men were allegedly fleeing the scene of a robbery when they were intercepted by lawmen.

A confrontation ensued following which three men were found suffering from gunshot wounds. 

They were later pronounced dead.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has been notified of the incident.

INDECOM’s Assistant Commissioner Hamish Campbell, says the circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear.
