233 people murdered in Jamaica since the start of the year

Two hundred and thirty-three (233) people have been murdered in the country, as at yesterday.

 

According to the latest crime data from the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this is 54 fewer, than the 287 murders recorded in the same period, last year.

 

All divisions recorded murders, with St. James leading the tally with 36 followed by Kingston Western with 22.

 

Meanwhile, there were also declines in rapes, robberies, and break-ins.

 

Cases of rape declined by 56, from 107, to 51.

 

Robberies went down by 66, from 197, to 131, while break-ins decreased by 21, from 191, to 170.
